What’s In Season – December Edition

First off let me say that I’m sorry this is the first blog post I’ve published since the November What’s In Season post. This final quarter of 2016 has been amazing and I’m so excited to soon share with you all that Earthly Bodies will have in store for your healthy natural living journey in 2017! BUT FIRST…We still have 3 whole weeks to enjoy the gift of eating produce that is fresh, local and in season in December.  Choosing to eat this way is a magical gift to your body, the environment, the local economy and of course your taste buds. Think about it…would you prefer a bunch of fresh greens just picked from the garden or greens that  have travelled across country in a truck for days? Not to mention it just tastes better and you are eating the same food that your local farmers are feeding their family. Give your body a fighting chance and #ShopFresh #ShopLocal #ShopInSeason.

Here are the foods that are at their peak of excellence in December. Just in time for your holiday recipes. Get as many of these jewels on your plate as you can this month and #EatYourMedicine for better health. I love to plenty of greens, root vegetables and make hearty soups and roasted vegetables year round, but there’s just something about enjoying them this time of year wouldn’t you agree? And it doesn’t matter if you eat them raw, roasted, steamed, juiced or in a smoothie just be sure to eat them.
