RE-PUBLISH: My Natural Living Skin Care Regimen

Hello and welcome to all the new Earthly Bodies that have joined the community in the last week! As promised on last week’s periscope here is my all natural skin care regimen featuring honey and jojoba oil with a video tutorial.

Taking care of our skin is usually at the top of everyone’s list no matter who you are! It’s the first impression we give off whether we want to or not.

So now I’ve used this regimen for almost 3 years and there will probably never be another one for me. Enjoy the tutorial and the information below about what I use and why. FYI: You can also view this tutorial directly from my YouTube-ish channel @EarthlyBodies. Just search honey when you get there.

Face towel – Make sure you are using a set of face towels purchased to ONLY touch YOUR face. Even wash them separate from all the other towels. If you wear makeup remove it first with Almond oil on cotton balls/pads…slides right off and with none of the irritation a lot of  makeup removers out there will give.  Get your water as warm as you can stand it and soak the towel in it wringing it out several times to really get the heat in there. Then place the towel over your face and just enjoy the relaxing steam until it cools down. The warm steam allows your pores to open making it easy to wipe away the days oil and debris. Once it cools down wipe your face and soak the towel again this time using the opposite side. Depending on how much time you have repeat this as many times as you want, but always doing it at least twice. Soak the towel once again and hang it to the side for a later step.

Now for the secret skin care weapon….

Honey –   Yep! The same one you use in your morning cup of  tea or your cookie and cake recipes. Honey is one of natures most amazing gifts. It’s benefits range from being an unbelievable skin moisturizer to an antiseptic that holds vitamins C and B. What I LOVE most is that honey has humectant qualities meaning it not only attracts water, but also retains it in the skin! So your skin will remain hydrated as the humectants seek moisture from the air keeping your skin supple and fighting dryness and wrinkles. I choose to use 100% raw organic honey, but I have read and seen results from people who use all different kinds including the one we all recognize in the cute little bear container. But the way my skin is set up though…I’m not gonna leave anything to chance! I have a separate jar that is only used for skin care. Please make sure your hands are clean before dipping out your honey. Not doing so could transfer bacteria into your cleanser and right onto your face…epic fail. This is your moisturizing cleanser! After your towel steam dip a small dime size amount into your hand and rub it onto your face just as you would any other cleanser. You may need to dampen your hand just a little to assist the honey in smoothing across your face. How long you let it sit on your face depends on how much time you have or what your skin is telling you it needs. For me if my skin seems to be in need of moisture (this is more so in the colder months) or I just have more time I will leave the honey on my skin like a mask for 5-20 minutes and have been known to let it sit all day if I’m just hanging around the house.  Grab your towel that you steamed with earlier that has cooled down at this point and pat your face dry (the cool water causes your pores to close keeping in all the moisture). You will be left with clean, dewy and soft skin.

Jojoba oil – If you’re concerned you’ll need additional moisture this is hands down one of the best oils anyone can use on their skin! Jojoba oil has properties that make it closest to our skins natural oil produced which is sebum. We all have it some of us just produce more than others. Like magic Jojoba oil regulates the amount of sebum produced when used regularly (YaaaaY for oily skin individuals). This is an excellent moisturizer. I no longer have to use it now that my skin has been regulated. After patting your skin dry with your cool towel put a dime sized amount in your hands, rub them together and apply just like you would any other moisturizer. A little goes a long way so since your entire body will enjoy the recognizable properties if you squeeze/pour out too much just move on down to your neck, chest, etc.

That’s it! Now your skin has an amazing palette to apply your make up or just head out the door looking all easy breezy beautiful (^_^). Try this for 30 days and come back here to tell us what you think. Be sure to take a before and after pic so that you truly see the results. I know that your skin will love it just like mine does. Here’s to healed, healthy, glowing, beautiful skin naturally <3.

12 Reasons Why Drug Companies Won’t Tell You About Celery Juice…

American futurist and self-described social engineer, Jacque Fresco said it best…

“If a drug company finds out that celery juice lowers blood pressure and if they tell it to people, they can’t sell their drug. They get three bucks for a pill. Why should they tell you to use celery juice?”

Well my answer to that is out of moral obligation and fear of God’s wrath for misleading His children, but hey ya know who asked me? 😉 You did Earthly Bodies and I’m here to share with you why I drink 6-8 ounces of fresh celery juice every morning as soon I rise.

I love celery! I get about 16 oz. of juice from 1 regular size bag of celery. Every two days I juice a bag of celery (avg costs about $1.10), drink my serving for the day and then place the remaining serving in a mason jar with a sealed lid in the fridge for the next morning. I don’t make any more than that to ensure I don’t lose all the amazing nutrients and it seriously takes only 2 minutes. For you calorie counters that 1-cup serving of fresh celery juice has 65 calories, less than 0.7 grams of fat and almost 2.8 grams of protein (mmm hmmm that’s right protein!). This makes celery juice a good choice to help you get 3.5 to 5 cups of vegetables per week, which is the amount recommended for men and women by ChooseMyPlate.gov.

Fresh raw celery juice is loaded with  a variety of nutrients containing almost all of the essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which help in regulating the optimal functions of the body. So here are a dozen reasons why I drink it daily and you should do the same. Visit Shop EBNL for all of your self guided and customized detox plans.

Celery Juice

Benefits of Celery Juice for Skin and Hair:

Yall know I’m all about natural beauty care! Celery juice can contribute to both your skin and hair health. Ditch the synthetic beauty products available on the market to explore “Mother Nature’s” line.

Hydrates Skin

Celery is 95% water which means drinking it can go towards your daily water intake and of course more water equals soft, supple, healthy skin. For more insight read 8 Isn’t Enough.

Glowing Skin

There are SO many great minerals present in celery juice like Calcium (mmm hmmm that’s right), Selenium, Magnesium, Potassium, etc. which when put all together equals bright and glowing skin.

Prevents Skin Damage And Other Skin Disorders

The water and antioxidant content duo of celery juice is also good for purifying the body and making skin clearer. Antioxidants seek out free radicals, which keeps our body free from toxins and prevents skin cells from getting damaged. Then water does its magic by eliminating those toxins and other waste from the body.

Keeps Skin Young

Celery juice is loaded with Vitamins A, B, C, K, Niacin an Folate, which are essential for repairing skin damages as well as keeping up the health of our skin. These vitamins also help in producing collagen and nourishing it. Therefore, you’re left with smooth, younger looking and wrinkle-free skin.

Overall Hair Care

Alright we just learned celery juice has a high amount of water and vitamin A. Both are great for our hair. Water keeps our scalp hydrated and cures dandruff, while Vitamin A provides nourishment to the roots of hair strands and makes them healthy. Celery juice is also known to stimulate hair growth and improve hair texture. Here’s your new prescription for beautiful healthy hair.

Benefits of Celery Juice for the Rest of  the Body:

Maintains Acid-Base Balance:

Your bodies pH balance is so important and very few foods are as powerful as celery juice in maintaining the acid-alkaline balance in our body. It reduces the acidity and makes our body more alkaline helping the pH levels remain good.

Aids In Weight Loss:

Remember a serving of celery juice only has 65 calories so shedding extra weight would be a side effect of including it in a smart healthy diet. It’s also very filling which keeps your appetite and cravings in check and helps you lose weight successfully.

Controls Blood Pressure:

By drinking only 1 glass of celery juice a day you will be able to keep your blood pressure under control. This gift is courtesy of 3-n-butylphthalide, which diminishes the secretion of stress hormones and relaxes the muscles present around our blood vessels so that they get dilated and blood can flow through them smoothly without causing much pressure onto their inner walls.

Anti- Inflammatory Action:

Celery juice is highly anti-inflammatory. It holds the organic compound polyacetylene, which inhibits acute inflammation in bone diseases like osteoarthritis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. and respiratory disorders like bronchitis, asthma, etc. YEEEEES!! Put down the pills! #NatureAlwaysWINS

Prevents Cancer:

Disease, including cancer, can not live in an alkaline environment. Eating fruits and veggies will get you to the promised land of healthy alkalinity ;-). Keep cancer at bay by drinking celery juice every day. There are 8 types of anti-cancer substances present in the juice that can heal cancer in a number of ways. The acetylenic content of the juice prevents the tumor cells from growing, the phonolic acid content makes the hormone-like prostaglandins (accelerates the growth of cancerous cells) inactive, the phyto nutrient content stops free radicals from destroying the DNA of our cells, (do you really need any other reasons?!).

Lowers Cholesterol:

Celery juice is a fantastic natural remedy for lowering cholesterol levels all because of (here it is again)the chemical compound 3-n-butylphthalide that has positive effects on reducing the bad cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein) in our bloodstream. It will also boost the secretion of bile or steroid acids which is helpful in lowering cholesterol too. Get this…the juice from only 2 stalks of celery can decrease cholesterol levels up to 7 points!

Prevents Digestive and Tummy Issues:

Celery juice contains lots of fibers which turn the plant into a GENTLE NON EMERGENCY laxative. The fibers discharges certain nutrients during the juicing process and prevents constipation by making the bowel movement smoother.

Dr Bronner’s Magic Soaps

Some many uses...so little time!

If you’ve been hanging around here or following me on social media the last few weeks you have heard and read the word magic used a good bit. That is mostly because after being delivered from so many senseless ailments in the last 2+ years by simply changing my lifestyle and being introduced and in some cases reacquainted with Father God’s creation and intentions for my natural wellness the outcome has seemed like just that…magical. Today you are hearing it because it is truly the name of the product I’m talking about. A few weeks ago I did a quick video regarding how much we love this soap in my home and some of you had follow up questions. So just like that a blog post was born (^_^). Thank you again for letting me know what you want to know about…you’re making my “job” easy <3. You can watch that video below, on YouTube or on Facebook if you missed it.

If you have ever even glanced at one of these bottles you know that it is COVERED with words that the late Dr. Bronner called the Moral ABC’s. Some of it is pretty thought provoking stuff and some of it I’m still scratching my head over. I admit I have yet to finish reading an entire bottle because you can easily get caught on a thought and start chasing that rabbit. I do really like his statement that we only need 2 cosmetics in life, enough sleep and his soap to clean body, mind, spirit and soul. This soap claims to have 18 different uses all in one bottle. The uses include: washing your face, body, hands and hair, for bathing, shaving, brushing your teeth, rinsing fruit, aromatherapy, washing dishes by hand, doing laundry, mopping floors, all-purpose cleaning, washing windows, scrubbing toilets, washing dogs, controlling dust mites, and killing ants and aphids. Yep, that’s 18! I can personally speak for the greatness in 8 of the uses and hope that you will try one of the 8 different formulas/scents for your own personal or household needs.

For me the almond/green bottle is the most moisturizing so I use it most for showering, shaving and occasionally washing my hair if I’m out of my staple product. The almond oil scent is my favorite. My husband however gets dried out by the almond oil so he uses the tea tree/orange bottle with great success. He doesn’t even have to use lotion afterwards!  We also use this one or the peppermint/blue bottle as a hand soap by mixing 1 part soap to 7 parts water. The lavender/lavender bottle is reserved for gentle laundry washing…smells divine. The citrus orange/yellow bottle is my go to for hand washing dishes, doing the floors and cleaning the counters and appliances. Such a fresh clean scent. Because of all the natural goodness a very little goes a very long way making the cost more than worth it.

Have you used Dr. Bronner’s soaps? Which one is your favorite and what do you use it for? Leave your thoughts in the comments below…I love hearing from you. Natural Living Skin Care Regimen

The magic of honey!

Taking care of our skin is usually at the top of everyone’s list no matter who you are! It’s the first impression we give off whether we want to or not (^_^). I originally posted my regimen a year ago and at that time had been using it for 8 months. Now at the request of one of my readers I am bringing it out again because a) I’m still using it and it’s AWESOME!, b) that post has gotten lost in the sea of posts and c) I want to give you all want you want and need to live a full out naturally healthy life.

So now I’ve been using this regimen for almost 2 years and there will probably never be another one for me. Enjoy the tutorial and the information below regarding what I use and why.

Face towel – Make sure you are using a set of face towels purchased to ONLY touch YOUR face. Even wash them separate from all the other towels.
